Summer Doesn’t Have to Mean Feeling Stuck ☀️
Let’s be real, summer can be a weird mix of freedom and boredom. Without seeing friends every day at school, some days can feel lonely, and it might seem like everyone else is busy doing something exciting.
If you’re feeling that way, try looking at summer as a chance to learn more about you.
What excites you? What are you curious about? What have you always wanted to try but never had time for?
Here are a few ideas:
- Create a mood board or dream board filled with things that inspire you, places you want to go, goals you want to reach, or simply things that make you happy.
- Start a creative project. Write a short story, create a comic book, design a clothing line, start a photography challenge, or maybe even write the children’s book you’ve always imagined.
- Plan something fun. Organize a backyard field day, water balloon tournament, movie night, scavenger hunt, or picnic with friends. Sometimes the best memories come from acting like little kids again.
- Learn a new skill. Try cooking, gardening, painting, coding, skateboarding, learning a new language, or mastering a new sport.
- Reach out first. If you’re missing your friends, send the text. Chances are they’re looking for something to do too.
- Do something that helps others. Volunteer, help a neighbor, or find a way to make someone’s day a little brighter.
Remember, you don’t need a packed schedule to have a meaningful summer. Sometimes the best growth happens in the quiet moments when you discover new interests, build confidence, and learn more about who you are becoming.
This summer, challenge yourself to create, connect, explore, and dream a little bigger. You might be surprised by what you discover.
