Join Our Board: Help Shape YTP’s Next Decade of Impact

This year, the Yellow Tulip Project (YTP) celebrates 10 years of smashing the stigma around youth mental health, a decade built on community, courage, and youth leadership. Watch a short video lookback at our story and see what’s ahead.

To help set the foundation of YTP’s next decade of work, we’re initiating a nationwide search for four new Board members, each with a unique expertise that represents a key strategic priority for the organization. The four priorities are finance, public relations, product management and social science research.

Board Executive Position: Treasurer

Our Board Treasurer safeguards YTP’s financial health, partnering with our Executive Director to bring clarity and transparency to how we steward resources as we grow. This officer role leads financial reporting, revenue planning, and the annual budget process for the organization.

Time commitment: ~1 hour/week (a 30-minute check-in with our Executive Board, plus ~30 minutes of independent work).

Board Member: Public Relations Focus

Help YTP earn national media coverage that lifts up the powerful stories of community organizing and youth impact on destigmatization– stories that change lives, and in some cases save them. You’ll partner closely with our Executive Director to identify opportunities, build media relationships, and put YTP’s work in front of the audiences who can help us grow our reach and our resources.

Time commitment: ~1 hour/week (a 30-minute check-in with our Executive Director, plus ~30 minutes of independent work).

Board Member: Product Management Focus

Bring your experience in objective product/program management to help our Executive Director continuously assess our individual programs and guide management across our full portfolio of activities. You’ll help ensure our efforts stay focused, leverage synergies across our partners, and yield the highest possible ROI on our mission.

Time commitment: ~1 hour/week (a 30-minute check-in with our Executive Director, plus ~30 minutes of independent work).

Board Member: Social Science Research Focus

Help us prove, beyond anecdotes, that our programs measurably reduce the stigma youth feel around mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. Help our Executive Director establish a research partnership with a leading university or research institution to measure the programmatic impact of YTP’s efforts on destigmatization. Individual anecdotes and community stories have fueled our organization’s efforts for 10 years. In order to level-up our efforts for the next decade, we need to pursue a bigger hypothesis.

Time commitment: ~1 hour/week (a 30-minute check-in with our Executive Director, plus ~30 minutes of independent work).
