Here are a few upcoming events that might be worth leaving the apartment for.

Parks are always great for mental health days. October 10 is actually the official Global Mental Health Day, and The Yellow Tulip Project (YTP)–whose core mission is to “smash stigma associated with mental illness”–will be posted up in Central Park to brighten a few days. From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., they’ll be at Cherry Hill (mid-park at 72nd Street) handing out free tulip bulbs and sharing some information about their programs. “Yellow tulips are a symbol of hope so we will be opening up the conversation about what it means to have hope in the context of mental illness and how communities can come together to plant ‘hope gardens,’ says YTP intern Maddie Claman.
