Artist Statement: “In order to depict different emotions, I wanted to show my interpretation of social anxiety. By taking inspiration from my own struggles, I portrayed this through the eyes of the main person (on the left). Her eyes are watery, has little veins, but the paper over her face is a smile that she tries to put on in front of the crowd/other people. The other faces have laughing smiles on, since they don’t know about the internal obstacles the main person is experiencing. For the materials, I used 2B pencil only, something new from all of my other artworks with a lot of color.”
