To further delve into the minds of young, struggling students in high school, Yejin tried to create another version of her previous piece on educational mental health by incorporating a black-and-white pen style. The upper-half of the drawing portrays the anxiety and stress students go through before an exam, which is shown to be connected to the student’s brain at the bottom of the piece. The usage of dark-light balance emphasizes the distortion of a student’s mental health, as does the wording in the background (I can’t do this, what if I fail, etc.). Overall, Yejin wishes to illustrate and spread awareness to the normalized behavior and stress young people feel on a daily basis through this new approach on this topic.
