BENNINGTON — Bennington County Choral Society (BCCS), in collaboration with Burr & Burton Academy Concert Choir, presents Hope Waits, an inspiring mix of contemporary, classical, and deeply reflective choral works on Sunday, May 4.

Through its community outreach efforts, BCCS is proud to support and partner with Turning Point Recovery Center of Bennington VT, a peer recovery organization comprised of those in recovery from substance and alcohol abuse, or intimately impacted through a loved one. Turning Point offers clarity, support, and assistance in mapping a recovery plan. Representatives will be in attendance at the concert offering support and information.

The Yellow Tulip Project is an international program to create a space for determined youth to eradicate and “smash the stigma” around mental illness; to build community and inspire productive conversations about suicide, particularly in middle school and high school students. Representatives from the Burr & Burton Academy chapter of YTP will be on hand to offer assistance to families, friends, and loved ones with questions and concerns.

The concert, under the direction of Brian Dukeshier, PhD, closes BCCS’s 86th season, and is dedicated to supporting mental health awareness and fostering a compassionate, stigma-free community by exploring the many emotional landscapes of the human experience — grief, hope, struggle, and healing. Each piece has been thoughtfully chosen to encourage open conversations around mental well-being and remind attendees that no one is alone. With our concert partners, BCCS hope not only to uplift and inspire but also to create a safe, inclusive space where listeners can connect, reflect, and find solace through song.
