IN PERSON: EXPRESS: Art for Change (Portland, ME)

The Yellow Tulip Project (YTP) is a non-profit with a mission to smash the stigma surrounding mental health through dynamic nature, arts, and media based programming in partnership with youth leaders.  

What would you like to see change in our Portland community? Whether it’s greater utilization of our local parks, publicly accessible restrooms, more third places for youth, or making the city buses free, youth voices are powerful and we want to hear from youJoin us weekly on Wednesdays from November 5th – December 17th for EXPRESS: Art for Change and make art that raises community awareness and creates an impact. Using a variety of art mediums (zines, painting, poetry, sculpture), you’ll have the opportunity to get creative and think outside the box to make positive change right here in our city. This 7-week program will culminate in a showcase of the group’s choosing.

Important Registration Info: EXPRESS: Art for Change has space for up to 10 local Portland students ages 14-18, who will each receive a stipend for their consistent participation. Please note: priority will be given to new participants (those who did not participate in last spring’s program). There will also be a waitlist. If you are under the age of 18, parent/guardian permission is required to participate.
